Position Overview: IDOC is looking to hire an Office Assistant to keyboard and maintain files and perform difficult clerical duties for Clinical Services. In addition, this position will assist with processing individual in custody paperwork, assist other staff in the performance of duties, collect individual in custody requests, visitor slips, phone lists, PIN number slips and notification of absence slips and serve as a liaison with facility staff and outside professional/legal personal. Essential Functions: Keyboards and maintains files consisting of correspondence, records, reports and other materials for use by professional staff. Performs difficult clerical duties for Clinical Services. Assists Clinical Services staff with processing individual in custody paperwork. Assists other Clinical Services staff in the performance of duties and serves as back up to other Office Assistants. Collects individual in custody requests, visitor slips, phone lists, PIN number slips, and notification of absence slips. Serves as liaison with facility staff and outside professional/legal personnel. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications: Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and one (1) year of related office experience. Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 35 words per minute. Conditions of Employment Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check. Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited. Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
