Apply for this role →Description. This contract, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide high-quality inpatient care in a supportive and collaborative clinical environment.
As a Locum MD Hospitalist, you will deliver comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients, managing admissions, daily rounds, and discharges while coordinating with specialists and nursing staff. You will play a vital role in ensuring continuity of care, improving patient outcomes, and maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence within the medical practice.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care to hospitalized patients
Manage patient admissions, daily rounds, and discharge planning
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies
Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans
Coordinate care with specialists, consultants, and nursing staff
Respond promptly to acute changes in patient conditions
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses
Communicate effectively with patients and their families
Participate in multidisciplinary care team meetings
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and clinical protocols
Support smooth transitions of care during shift handovers
Requirements:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction
Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Associate-level clinical experience in hospital medicine
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced inpatient environment
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Commitment to patient-centered care and safety
Current BLS and ACLS certification preferred
Willingness to work on-site in Winter Garden
Schedule: 24-hour call (8 hours in-house, 16 hours beeper call)
Duties:
Newborn care, pediatric consults, observation coverage, attend high-risk deliveries, and provide newborn stabilization
Required Procedures: Circumcisions
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
