Senior Musical Instrument Retail Sales Associate

Music & Arts seeks a Part-Time Senior Sales Associate to support students, parents, and educators in our retail store. In this role, you’ll guide customers in selecting band and orchestra instruments, rentals, repairs, and accessories, while promoting private lessons and special programs. You’ll drive store sales, meet performance goals, and deliver exceptional, student-focused service. Working collaboratively with educators and school service reps, you help grow music participation in the community and maintain well-merchandised, organized, and efficient store operations. Provide consultative sales support for instruments, rentals, lessons, and accessories Meet or exceed individual and store sales and performance goals Deliver outstanding, student-focused customer service in-store and by phone Support school service reps and educators with product and program information Process rentals, repairs, exchanges, and lesson enrollments accurately Maintain merchandise presentation, signage, and stock organization Operate POS systems, handle cash/credit transactions, and manage paperwork Support events, promotions, and community outreach efforts Assist with opening/closing procedures and daily store operations Stay current on product knowledge, music education offerings, and promotions Retail sales Customer service Point-of-sale (POS) operation Product knowledge – musical instruments Inventory and merchandising Cash handling and reconciliation Instrument rental processing Sales reporting and goal tracking Basic computer skills Communication and relationship building Background in music performance, education, or band/orchestra preferred Experience with band and orchestra instruments strongly preferred Retail sales or customer service experience in a music-related environment preferred
