Apply for this role →The R&D CI analyst will provide competitive intelligence analysis and insights to support pipeline innovation, clinical development and decision-making for projects in early research through Phase II clinical development in Cardio-Renal-Metabolic Disease Research (CRMDR).The Analyst will work closely with Competitive R&D Intelligence (CRDI) Director, other CRDI colleagues and external consultants to provide competitive analyses and insights to guide project decision making and portfolio prioritization. The Analyst is also expected to participate in conference coverage and debriefing activities and in maintaining data sources required to support the delivery and sharing of comprehensive competitive intelligence to business partners. The successful candidate will transform diverse scientific, clinical, business, and competitive information into actionable insights that inform R&D strategy and portfolio decisions. The R&D CI Analyst should have broad knowledge of the pharmaceutical R&D process and demonstrated expertise in gathering intelligence from structured and unstructured sources, synthesizing findings into audience-friendly deliverables, generating actionable insights, and communicating them to Boehringer Ingelheim partners in a timely manner. Prior work or research experience in cardiovascular, renal, liver, metabolic, or autoimmune diseases is required. Experience applying AI-enabled tools, large language models, or advanced analytics to literature, clinical trial, patent, or competitive intelligence workflows is preferred. The Analyst is also expected to be able to work in cross functional teams, have good communication and influencing skills.
Required:
advanced degree PhD/PharmD/MD or MS/MPH. Cardiovascular/Renal/Metabolic disease expertise.
Preferred: patent/licensing knowledge, AI/LLM experience.
