Contract Specialist II
Location: Washington, DC – NoMa area
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, traditional business hours
Work Arrangement: 100% onsite, five days per week
Pay: $40 per hour
Contract Duration: One year, with the possibility of extension
Start Date: ASAPNRI Staffing is seeking a Contract Specialist II to support the Office of the Chief Financial Officer within a federal government agency. The office is conveniently located directly across from the NoMa–Gallaudet U Metro station on the Red Line. This professional-level position will support federal procurement activities throughout the solicitation, evaluation, award, and contract-administration processes.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare RFQs, RFPs, IFBs, and related solicitation documents Develop solicitation terms and conditions Coordinate postings through approved government procurement systems Respond to vendor questions and prepare solicitation amendments Receive, organize, and evaluate contractor proposals Conduct market research and assess contractor responsibility Analyze pricing and determine price reasonableness Document evaluation results and prepare award recommendations Support technical evaluation panels Draft contract awards and purchase orders Prepare award-decision documentation and coordinate approvals Notify successful and unsuccessful offerors Establish and maintain complete, compliant contract files Review invoices, funding documentation, and contract modifications Monitor contractor performance Support Contracting Officers with contract administration Conduct cost, price, and cost-realism analyses Document negotiation positions and assist with negotiations Prepare post-negotiation documentation
Preferred Qualifications: Professional experience supporting government procurement or contracting activities Experience preparing solicitations, awards, purchase orders, and contract modifications Knowledge of cost and price analysis, market research, and proposal evaluation Experience maintaining compliant procurement and contract files Strong writing, analytical, organizational, and documentation skills Ability to work onsite in Washington, DC, five days per week
