Apply for this role →A Snapshot of Your DayJoin Siemens Energy's 9000HL Fleet Operations team and help optimize the performance, reliability, and operability of one of the world's most advanced gas turbine fleets. In this highly visible role, you'll serve as a technical authority supporting the global 9000HL fleet, partnering with engineering experts across turbine systems, combustion, controls, auxiliary systems, commissioning, and field operations. Your work will directly improve fleet reliability, availability, flexibility, and customer outcomes while helping shape the future of gas turbine technology.
How You'll Make an Impact:
Drive fleet performance, reliability, availability, and operational excellence across Siemens Energy's global 9000HL gas turbine fleet. Lead root cause investigations, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and develop corrective actions that improve fleet-wide performance and reliability. Analyze operational data, performance trends, alarms, and fleet events to identify emerging risks and improvement opportunities. Develop and implement operating strategies, protection philosophies, and system enhancements that optimize safety, flexibility, efficiency, and plant availability. Support commissioning, startup, and early fleet experience activities while providing technical guidance for new unit introductions and product upgrades. Collaborate with global engineering, product management, field service, and customer teams to deliver innovative solutions and successfully deploy next-generation technologies across the fleet. What You Bring
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; equivalent gas turbine industry experience may be considered. 5+ years of experience in gas turbine engineering, fleet operations, fleet performance, reliability engineering, commissioning, field engineering, product engineering, or power generation operations. Strong knowledge of large-frame gas turbine operation, operating philosophies, protection strategies, and auxiliary systems including fuel gas, fuel oil, lube oil, hydraulics, and cooling systems. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex gas turbine issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions that improve reliability and performance. Experience analyzing operational and fleet performance data to identify trends, diagnose issues, evaluate risk, and develop practical engineering solutions. Proven ability to collaborate across global, cross-functional engineering teams, influence technical decisions, communicate effectively, and drive continuous improvement using Lean or structured problem-solving methodologies. Export Control Requirement (ECC): Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Direct commissioning, startup, or field engineering experience supporting large-frame gas turbines. Experience supporting advanced gas turbine platforms, including H-Class, HL-Class, or comparable OEM technologies. Experience with fleet performance monitoring, reliability engineering, diagnostics, condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and fleet analytics. Experience leading outage troubleshooting, fleet issue resolution, root cause failure analysis (RCFA), and fleet-wide corrective action implementation. Knowledge of gas turbine controls, instrumentation, protection systems, operational analytics, and digital monitoring tools. Experience supporting new product introductions, prototype validation, product upgrades, utility customers, IPPs, or combined-cycle power generation facilities.
