One thing that sets us apart is our network of almost 3,000 volunteers throughout the U.S. Many of our volunteers have hosted international exchange students or studied abroad with AFS. These local volunteers support families, students, and schools in gaining the most from their hosting experience. Extend Your Family Host families often develop close relationships with their student's family, and many find opportunities to visit them long after they've returned home.
