RF Engineer II (Location: Oxnard, CA area 93030) * This role requires a Secret Clearance * Job Overview: Key skills that are required by the hiring manager: *Work with Lead Engineers on design updates *Perform hands-on product troubleshooting in manufacturing and development environments *Assist with ongoing engineering development projects and product initiatives *Responsible for the release of engineering design documentation *Collaborate and effectively communicate with cross-functional development teams Job Description: *Design, develop, and analyze RF systems and components for defense and aerospace applications, including transmitters, receivers, antennas, amplifiers, and frequency converters. *System Integration: Integrate RF systems into larger defense and aerospace platforms, such as aircraft, satellites, unmanned vehicles, or ground-based systems. *Testing and Evaluation: Conduct testing and evaluation of RF systems and components to ensure compliance with performance specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. *Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues related to RF systems, including signal interference, noise, power limitations, and performance optimization. *Frequency Planning and Management: Conduct frequency planning and management activities to ensure efficient and effective utilization of RF spectrum resources. *Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, including system specifications, test plans, reports, and design documentation, to support development, manufacturing, and maintenance activities. *Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to ensure successful integration of RF systems into larger defense and aerospace platforms. *Compliance and Standards: Stay updated with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to RF engineering in the defense and aerospace sector.
Skills and Qualifications: *Secret Clearance is Required. *Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees and specialized certifications are advantageous. *RF Design Tools: Proficiency in using RF design and simulation tools, such as MATLAB, ADS (Advanced Design System), CST Microwave Studio, or similar software. *RF Systems and Components: Strong understanding of RF systems, components, and technologies, including RF circuit design, microwave engineering, modulation techniques, and electromagnetic theory. *Testing and Measurement Equipment: Experience with RF testing and measurement equipment, such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes. *Communication Protocols: Familiarity with communication protocols commonly used in the defense and aerospace industry, such as SATCOM, GPS, WLAN, or Bluetooth. *Problem Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex RF system performance issues, troubleshoot problems, and propose effective solutions. *Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
