Apply for this role →Our client, an established financial services firm, is seeking a senior Fixed Income Operations leader to oversee a key post-trade operations function. This individual will be responsible for leading a team, managing day-to-day operational performance, and partnering closely with trading and senior management. The role requires someone who understands fixed income operations at a detailed level but can also take a broader view of controls, scalability, technology, and process improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations professionals
- Oversee post-trade activity across a diversified fixed income business
- Manage complex trade, settlement, financing, and operational exceptions
- Act as a senior escalation point for trading and business stakeholders
- Oversee relationships with external service providers and operational partners
- Work closely with trading teams to improve workflows and operational efficiency
- Strengthen controls and identify opportunities to reduce operational risk
- Drive automation and process-improvement initiatives
- Support new products, technology enhancements, and broader business initiatives
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, Technology, Finance, and senior management on key operational matters Background
- 10+ years of relevant financial services experience
- Meaningful experience within Fixed Income Operations
- Prior team-management experience
- Strong knowledge of fixed income post-trade processes and market infrastructure
- Experience with settlements, financing activity, reconciliations, and exception management
- Experience overseeing vendors or third-party service providers is beneficial
- Strong understanding of operational controls and risk management
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
The ideal candidate combines deep operational knowledge with strong leadership skills and is comfortable moving between detailed problem-solving and broader strategic initiatives.
