This role will provide exceptional patient care and maintain a comforting and supportive environment during procedures. The EMT will ensure the accuracy and integrity of laboratory testing by following established protocols for specimen collection and handling.
Essential Functions:
Collect various types of specimens such as blood, urine, saliva, and tissue samples from patients according to established protocols.
Accurately record patient information.
Properly labeling collected samples with patient information, ensuring accuracy and traceability, and safely transporting them to the laboratory for analysis.
Adhere to safety protocols and biohazard precautions, disposing of hazardous materials properly to maintain sanitary work areas and prevent the spread of disease and infections.
Providing first-aid treatment, such as bandaging wounds.
Provide life support care such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).Assist nurses and other healthcare professionals in patient care activities, including preparing examination rooms, medical equipment, and supplies, and providing support during medical procedures.
