Athletic Trainer, Onsite Industrial (Full Time) Allied Occupational Medicine • Indianapolis, INAbout the RoleWe're looking for a certified Athletic Trainer to work full time onsite at a manufacturing facility on the northeast side of Indianapolis, helping keep employees healthy, safe, and on the job. This is a non-traditional AT role focused on the industrial setting. You'll apply your clinical skills to ergonomics, early intervention, and injury prevention rather than the sidelines. You'll be embedded with the plant's EHS team as a dedicated extension of it, backed by an Allied occupational medicine physician who staffs every case, with our clinic five minutes away when something needs a provider. Schedule This is a dedicated, full-time, 40 hour per week onsite role:- Three days per week, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.- Two days per week, 5:00 or 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 or 1:30 p.m. (a 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. start may be available on these days) The early starts exist so the trainer is on the floor at the start of every production shift. If a consistent pre-dawn start twice a week doesn't work for you, this isn't the right role, and we'd rather tell you that up front.
What You'll Do: Provide onsite early intervention, first aid, and triage for work-related musculoskeletal discomfort and minor injuries, including eye flushing, minor cuts, and bandaging- Deliver hands-on therapy for both work-related and personal injuries, under physician direction- Make and document OSHA recordability determinations in coordination with the site EHS team- Conduct ergonomic assessments of workstations and job tasks, and build an ongoing ergonomics program with practical, task-level recommendations- Perform drug screen and breath alcohol (BAT) collections and respiratory fit testing onsite- Develop and lead a stretch and flex program, and keep it fresh rather than letting it go stale- Coach employees on the floor on body mechanics, safe lifting, and self-care- Check in regularly with production supervisors and sit on the site's monthly safety committee- Review and update physical job descriptions- Document interventions and produce recurring reporting on visit volume, first aid versus recordable trends, and program impact- Support return-to-work and job coaching in coordination with management and our providers
What We're Looking For: BOC certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) and Indiana state licensure- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training or a related field- Strong understanding of ergonomics, musculoskeletal injury prevention, and body mechanics- Comfort making independent judgment calls in an industrial environment with no onsite clinical supervision- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with employees at every level, from the floor to the plant manager- Conversational Spanish strongly preferred. The site has a significant Spanish-speaking workforce, and comfort using translation tools day to day is required- Experience in occupational health, industrial settings, or ergonomics- Current CPR/AED certification- DOT/non-DOT collector and BAT certification a plus. We'll certify you if you don't have itWhy Join Us- Dedicated full-time role at a single site, not a gig or a circuit of accounts- We pay for your industrial ergonomics certification (CEAS I and II), which also counts toward your BOC CEUs- Physician backup on every case and a clinic five minutes away, so you're never the last line- Real scope. You're not limited to coaching and hands-off prevention.- Collaborative work alongside a dedicated safety team that wants you there
