Compensation:
$20.96-$22.68 per hour Location: Brewster, MA Schedule: Multiple AvailableA Day in the Life of a Childcare WorkerBegin your shift by helping students transition into a calm, structured evening routine. Support nightly activities including personal hygiene, showers, laundry, and bedtime preparation. Provide encouragement, guidance, and emotional support to help students feel safe and valued. Monitor student well-being throughout the night and maintain a safe, secure residential environment. Maintain clear observation of student areas and respond appropriately to student needs. Document behavioral progress, daily observations, and important information for the treatment team. Collaborate with coworkers, supervisors, clinicians, and educators to support individual student goals. Use therapeutic crisis intervention techniques when necessary to ensure safety and support. End your shift knowing you've helped students feel secure, cared for, and prepared for a successful day ahead. What We're Looking For:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid driver's license required
- One year of experience in human services or working with individuals with disabilities preferred, but not required
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to respond to crisis situations with compassion, patience, and professionalism
- Ability to safely perform physical interventions when necessary
- Basic computer and documentation skills
What You'll Do:
- Provide overnight supervision and support in a residential setting
- Maintain student safety and well-being throughout the overnight hours
- Support students with daily living routines, including hygiene, laundry, chores, and organization
- Maintain behavioral logs, progress notes, and other required documentation
- Assist with assessments, treatment planning, and IEP-related documentation
- Communicate important student and program information to supervisors and team members
- Provide informal counseling, encouragement, and positive role modeling
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming living environment
- Protect confidential student information and comply with agency policies and procedures
- Participate actively in team meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions
- Implement therapeutic crisis intervention strategies as needed
