TRIO Talent Search Ambassador

Job Summary: TRIO Talent Search is a grant-funded pre-college program that helps students prepare for higher education. TRIO Talent Search serves 500 students annually and works with middle and high school students in Lewisville ISD. The TRIO TS Ambassador’s primary focus is to support the overall success of the students by providing help with goal setting, tutoring, group facilitation, and personal development. Candidate must demonstrate willingness, patience, and a passion for the student’s advancement in post‑secondary education.

Required Skills & Abilities Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills including excellent listening skills Ability to effectively tutor participants & track academic progress Ability to work effectively with students in grades 9-12 Maintains a positive role within the program and a favorable public image Good interpersonal skills and demonstrably self-motivated Have good time-management and organizational skills Punctual, dependable, and able to maintain confidentiality of student information Have computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and social media Professional or personal experience in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting project participants Preferred Skills & Abilities

Have and maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA (waived for first-semester new students) be in good academic standing Be a current or former TRIO participant or come from a first-generation background.
