Apply for this role →Position Title: Buyer/Planner Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 / year, DOE The Buyer/Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring that production has the necessary materials on time. This position involves managing inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock. The Buyer/Planner will negotiate with suppliers on pricing and terms while addressing any issues related to delays or quality. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and track costs effectively. The Buyer/Planner will also be involved in building relationships with vendors to enhance supply chain efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Buy materials to ensure timely production & create and update purchase orders Manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess Collaborate with suppliers on pricing, timelines, and order specifics Resolve issues such as delays, shortages, or quality concerns Maintain accurate systems with updated pricing and order information Track costs to help manage spending & identify and evaluate new vendors Build strong relationships with suppliers & work with suppliers to improve cost and lead times Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, and pricing
Requirements:
2+ years in purchasing, planning, or supply chain Comfortable negotiating pricing and terms High school diploma Experience with inventory, MRP, or procurement Experience with ERP systems (Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, etc.) is preferred Strong Excel skills are preferred Experience in manufacturing or supply chain environments is preferred
