Job Description: Snapshot / Role Overview We're seeking a General Superintendent in Guam to lead all mechanical field operations for an established mechanical contractor's Guam projects. You will direct plumbing, piping, HVAC, and sheet metal crews and superintendents across multiple commercial and federal projects, owning manpower, schedule, quality, and safety in the field. Impact Be the senior field leader for every mechanical trade on the island. Deliver federal and commercial projects on schedule with crews that are planned, staffed, and productive. Set the safety and quality standard that keeps the company on the short list for the next award. Build local and traveling field leadership for a growing Pacific operation.
Responsibilities: Direct superintendents, foremen, and crews across plumbing, piping, HVAC, and sheet metal scopes. Plan manpower across projects and move labor to protect schedules and productivity. Coordinate with project managers on schedules, buyout, prefabrication, and material logistics. Enforce the safety program, including federal jobsite requirements, with zero tolerance. Run quality control from fabrication through installation, testing, and commissioning. Manage subcontractor field performance and coordination with the general contractor. Own field productivity reporting, labor forecasting, and lookahead scheduling. Recruit, develop, and hold accountable field supervision across the island.
Requirements: Must-Haves 10+ years in commercial mechanical construction with 5+ years as a general superintendent or senior superintendent over multiple trades. Field leadership across plumbing, piping, HVAC, and sheet metal on complex commercial or federal projects. Manpower planning and productivity management across multiple concurrent projects. Working knowledge of federal jobsite requirements (NAVFAC or USACE, EM 385-1-1). OSHA 30 and a current record of safe project delivery. Willingness to relocate to Guam. Nice-to-Haves Prior Guam, Hawaii, or remote-island project experience and logistics planning. Experience with prefabrication and BIM-driven field installation. Union field background (UA or SMART). Military construction or Seabee background. Compensation & Logistics Competitive salary depending on experience. Full-time, on-site in Guam. Relocation to Guam required.
