Apply for this role →Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic We are seeking a reliable and skilled Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to service and repair a variety of heavy construction equipment and fleet vehicles. This is a field-based role requiring travel to job sites throughout Colorado, with lodging and per diem provided when needed. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong mechanical, diagnostic, and communication skills.
Key responsibilities include:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment (excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, etc.) and fleet trucks (3500s, semis, trailers)
- Perform preventative maintenance and maintain service logs via mobile apps
- Manage parts sourcing and procurement using a company card (post-probation)
- Travel to remote project sites (e.g., Idaho Springs, South Pueblo, Rocky Ford)
- Conduct welding repairs as necessary
- Keep service vehicle clean and fully equipped
- Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols and timelines
Qualifications include
Experience: 5+ years in heavy equipment maintenance (field experience preferred)
Licensing: Valid driver's license with clean MVR (CDL preferred)
Technical Skills: Proficiency in diesel engines, hydraulics, diagnostics, and welding
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work outdoors year-round, and climb equipment
- Must pass a pre-employment physical and 10-panel drug screen
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable using mobile devices and apps for work documentation
Compensation and benefits include
Hourly Rate: $28$35/hr (depending on experience and tooling)
