Company Description: Peak HR Advisors, LLC is working with a US distributor of stainless, carbon and alloy long products and looking for an Inventory Control Specialist who is highly organized and detail-orientedwith experience in inventory control, logistics, and supply chain operations. This individual needs to becomfortable working independently, communicating with international suppliers and logistics partners, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and committed to maintaining accurate inventory records while supporting the efficient movement of imported materials throughout the supply chain. Position is based in our Buffalo Grove, IL location and fully onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify the accuracy of incoming container shipments and ensure inventory is received in accordance withcompany standards. Accurately enter and maintain inventory records within the SRP system. Monitor, track, and coordinate incoming international container shipments to ensure timely receipt andavailability of materials.
  • Communicate with international suppliers regarding shipment status, documentation, and deliveryschedules.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders and logistics partners to manage mill shipment schedules and resolvetransportation issues. Manage quarantined inventory, ensuring proper documentation, segregation, and disposition in accordance with company procedures. Coordinate and oversee scrap material sales, including inventory tracking and vendor communication. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve inventory discrepancies to maintain accurate inventory records. Oversee and coordinate cycle count activities, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions toimprove inventory accuracy.
  • Assist warehouse operations as needed to support receiving, shipping, inventory, and overall operationalefficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate inventory levels and the efficient flow ofmaterials throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (Supply Chain emphasis preferred)
  • Familiarity with importing goods/supply chain processes
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Previous experience with custom software programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detailed oriented and able to work independently
  • Quality Management System understanding
Compensation
Salary range: $50,000-70,000, plus benefits
