Field Diesel Mechanic

Position Description: As a Field Diesel Mechanic at JE Construction, you will use your skills to perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment with limited or no supervision in a highly skilled, safe, and professional manner. Additional duties include the following: Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of JECS equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment Travel to job sites for repair/maintenance of JECS owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner Assist in the training of lower-level technicians as needed Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner daily Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts Other duties assigned as needed Position Requirements

Skills/Abilities: Extensive knowledge of equipment safety processes used in commercial and civil Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools Ability to complete daily activities according to work schedule Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent 3+ years of experience of Diesel/ heavy equipment repairing/maintaining equipment and tools Knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical systems, suspension and/or brake systems and other related motor vehicle aspects, either through advanced education or on-the-job training Knowledge of heavy equipment parts and performance requirements (including hydraulics) Advanced education or training in electronic computerized diagnostic systems and equipment (preferred not required) Equipment Experience Milling Machines, Excavators, Loaders, Skid Steers, and Diesel Trucks (class 7-8 preferred)

Valid Drivers License Physical Requirements: Must own tools applicable to position Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary.
