Overview: This position reports to the Director of Compensation & Benefits, the Americas in supporting the compensation function for the Americas region (United States, Canada and Mexico). This role has a strong focus on staff cost planning and forecasting, payroll and T&E analysis, compensation reporting, and scenario modeling.
Responsibilities: Own the tracking, budgeting and forecasting of annual staff costs for the Americas region in partnership with Finance, Planning and HR, including preparation of annual budgets and three forecast revisions throughout the year. Partner with Director of Compensation and Benefits and Global C&B team to maintain accurate and current staff cost files. Complete and analyze payroll bridge for Finance, identifying and clearly explaining the key drivers of variances between the forecast revisions. Prepare and maintain supporting budget and forecasting analysis, including consolidated costs, payroll, headcount and T&E reporting. Review monthly staff cost actuals against forecast, investigate variances, and provide clear explanations and recommendations as appropriate. Manage the HR department’s T&E budget, including annual forecasting, monthly analysis, and identifying and potential concerns. Maintain ownership of ownership of Master Compensation File and Compensation & Benefits Dashboard, ensuring data is accurate. Prepare monthly headcount reporting and biannual turnover analyses and presentations, partnering with HR team to identify trends and incorporate relevant exit interview feedback. Perform various compensation modeling and special analyses to recommend new compensation structures, incentives, and package redesigns. Partner with Retail leadership, Finance, and HR on staffing and compensation for new store proposals, considering anticipated business volume, store hours, organizational structure and staffing requirements. Oversee most HR-related vendor invoicing, serving as the primary billing contact, reviewing invoices for accuracy, monitoring expenses against budget, and ensuring timely processing. Serve as the main point of contact for internal compensation changes, building compensation proposals, partnering with Department Heads, preparing any offer letters or notices of pay, and communicating approved changes to Payroll. Support the biannual performance review and compensation cycle, including maintenance of review-related compensation files, coordinating approved changes with Payroll, and preparation of any offer letters or notices of pay. Coordinate participation in compensation benchmarking surveys, analyze market data, and develop recommendations based on market findings Partner with EPLI broker to track, reconcile and forecast expenses associated with employment-related legal matters. Provide the SVP of HR with ongoing visibility into EPLI-related expenses, including spend against deductible, when the deductible has been met, and any remaining balance. Monitor compensation-related developments across all jurisdictions, including minimum wage and salary exemption thresholds, assess their impact and communicate required actions to HR and Department Heads. Perform ad-hoc compensation analyses and projects as needed.
Skills and Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or related field required 2+ years of experience in applicable role
