Part-Time Van Driver - Aging & Disabilities Provide ramp and/or lift accessible passenger transportation in a safe, professional and timely manner. Transport passenger from origin to destination Drive specialized vehicles Drive vehicle(s) in a safe manner Comply with traffic laws and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations DOT Compliance and Reporting Fare collection and logging Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and documentation Vehicle up-keep (clean interior and exterior) Documentation and recordkeeping of time, ridership and others as required Customer Service Ensuring passenger safety Secure mobility devices and medical equipment and carry-ons Positive communication
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years passenger driving or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Experience using navigation equipment such as GPS devise used in automobiles. Per Sedgwick County policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid Kansas driver's license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance. Candidates must obtain Valid Dept. of Transportation (DOT) physical exam medical card qualifying individual to drive a commercial vehicle upon contingent offer.
Preferred Qualifications: Three (3) years commercial driving or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Experience using navigation equipment such as tablet with GPS software and auto vehicle (AV) locator for route and scheduling updates. Valid State of Kansas CDL Driver's License with A or B passenger endorsement. Bilingual in English and a language other than English.
