Job Description:
Step into a meaningful role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher for a Kindergarten Self-Contained Autism program in the Phoenix, AZ area. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid SPED Educator Certification and IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required
- Prior experience teaching students with Autism spectrum disorders, ideally in early elementary or self-contained settings
- Proficiency with visual supports and interventions to facilitate communication and learning
- Demonstrated ability to write compliant, data-driven Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong background in implementing and tracking positive behavior management strategies
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, individualized instruction for students with Autism within a self-contained kindergarten classroom
- Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure student progress and well-being
- Utilize and adapt visuals to promote learning, communication, and independence
- Develop, implement, and track IEPs in alignment with legal and district requirements
- Address behavioral needs using evidence-based interventions and positive supports
- Regularly document progress, communicate with families, and participate in team meetings
