This is an excellent opportunity for a 3+ year Insurance Defense Attorney, Litigation Attorney, or Civil Litigation Attorney with experience in insurance defense, general liability, municipal tort litigation, New York Labor Law, and/or civil rights litigation. The role offers genuine autonomy, your own caseload, direct client contact, depositions, motion practice and regular courtroom exposure, while allowing you to work fully remotely.
About the Role: The firm has a long-standing reputation in the New York litigation market and handles a broad range of insurance defense and complex civil litigation matters for major carriers and municipalities. Attorneys will have the opportunity to: Manage their own litigation caseload from inception through resolution Work directly with insurance carriers, municipal clients and opposing counsel Take and defend depositions Draft, argue and respond to motions Attend virtual and in person court appearances Develop litigation strategy and case assessments Handle matters in New York state and federal courts Prepare detailed reports and updates for insurance carrier and municipal clients Practice Areas Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply: Insurance Defense Insurance Litigation General Liability General Liability Defense Civil Litigation Tort Litigation Personal Injury Defense Municipal Defense Municipal Tort Litigation New York Labor Law / Labor Law Defense Construction Litigation Civil Rights Litigation Premises Liability Automobile Liability Professional Liability Must Have 3+ years of litigation experience Active New York Bar admission Experience handling litigation matters with meaningful responsibility Experience in insurance defense, general liability, municipal litigation, civil rights, Labor Law, or related tort litigation Experience with depositions, motion practice and court appearances Ability to manage matters with a high degree of autonomy Willingness to meet a 2,200 billable hour requirement Preferred Federal Bar admission, particularly SDNY and/or EDNY Experience representing insurance carriers Experience with municipal clients New York Labor Law experience Civil rights litigation experience Construction or premises liability litigation Experience taking cases from inception through trial/resolution Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills
Compensation & Benefits: $120,000-$200,000 base salary, dependent on experience Fully remote position 2,200 billable hour requirement Significant case ownership and client contact Regular deposition, motion and courtroom exposure Established workflow and long standing institutional client relationships Why Consider the Role?
