Healthcare actuarial consulting Director role in Arlington, Virginia, covering employer medical, dental, life and disability programs. You will lead financial and actuarial engagements, advise clients on plan design, funding and risk strategies, review modelling and reserves work, and support relationship growth. The role is hybrid and offers a $140,000-$225,000 base salary plus an annual incentive bonus.
Requirements
Must have:
- 8+ years' experience in professional services
- State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining
- No employment-based non-immigrant visa sponsorship or assistance
- Strongly preferred: Experience working across multiple client segments
- Advanced knowledge of broad health and welfare products and services
- Knowledge and experience using big data analytic techniques
- Expert knowledge of cost avoidance, risk and funding strategies
- Proven ability to lead multiple clients/projects and deliver on time and within budget
- Experience expanding client relationships through selling add-on services
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to guide junior colleagues and provide feedback
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPointRelevant financial experience and/or university degree
Nice to have:
- Background ideally in benefit consulting/brokerage or health underwriting/actuarial
- Progress toward a health actuarial designation or CEBS designation (optional)
