Shift Supervisor

Skills & Experience: Higher education/college degree Experience in a coal fired power plant Job Description We are seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations at a large coal-fired power generation facility. This role is responsible for overseeing plant operations, ensuring safe and reliable power production, coordinating maintenance activities, and leading a team of plant operators to meet system demand. As a key leader within the plant, you'll oversee shift operations, mentor and develop operators, and work closely with maintenance, environmental, and system control teams to maximize unit reliability and performance. In the absence of senior plant leadership, you'll provide oversight of plant operations and serve as the primary decision-maker on shift.

Key Responsibilities: Lead and direct hourly power plant operations to ensure reliable generation and system demand requirements are met. Supervise and support plant operators, including task assignment, performance management, training, and employee development. Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment is available, properly operated, and prepared for outages and repairs. Monitor plant equipment performance, identify operational issues, and take corrective action to maintain safe and efficient operations. Partner with Electric System Control to manage unit outages and maintain electrical system reliability. Oversee fuel and coal handling operations to ensure continuous and dependable unit performance. Support environmental compliance efforts and ensure adherence to all safety, operational, and regulatory requirements. Foster a positive team culture through coaching, communication, accountability, and leadership.
