Material Handler

Reports to: Supervisor Primary Purpose: Handling and stocking various materials to support production staff in the manufacturing process

Essential Functions: Support production by maintaining sufficient material at line Provide vacation coverage Maintain accurate material blend ratio, brand/upgrade as always required using the FIFO system (First in-First out)Perform material and line changeovers as instructed, safeguarding contamination Remove product from machines as instructed Maintain machine, plant, warehouse cleanliness Complete all appropriate paperwork Stage materials for upcoming changeovers Obtain a Hi-Lo License and operate safely at all times Complete daily Hilo inspection sheet Report on quality and safety issues to include needed repairs to immediate supervisor Perform color changes per work schedule Empty all rubbish containers at the end of each shift Remove old identification from containers prior to re-use Perform inventory control as needed Kaizen, 5s, Housekeeping

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent 2 years’ experience in a plastics manufacturing environment (preferably automotive)Knowledge of inventory control Outstanding attendance record Light administration duties to include chart management Interpersonal communication skills Basic math skills
