Role Description:
The Mechanical Engineer/Designer will work on-site in Parrish, FL in a full-time capacity, supporting the design and engineering of custom shop-fabricated products pressure vessels and storage tanks. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing mechanical designs, creating detailed CAD models and fabrication drawings, performing calculations and design reviews to ensure compliance with ASME and related standards, and collaborating with production, quality, and project management teams. The role involves reviewing customer specifications and assisting in resolving technical issues during manufacturing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred; equivalent relevant design experience will be considered. Demonstrated experience designing pressure vessels and/or aboveground storage tanks. Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards, particularly ASME Section VIII and API 650/API 620, as applicable. Experience performing or reviewing mechanical design calculations, including shell and head thickness, pressure/vacuum loading, nozzle reinforcement, wind/seismic loading, and support design. Ability to develop and review fabrication drawings, general arrangements, nozzle schedules, bills of material, and engineering documentation. Experience with pressure-vessel/tank design software such as COMPRESS, AMETank, or equivalent. Understanding of materials, welding, fabrication methods, and inspection requirements associated with pressure vessels and storage tanks. Ability to coordinate with fabrication, production, project management, customers, and other engineering disciplines to resolve design and manufacturing issues. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple engineering/design projects and deadlines. Ability to interpret customer specifications, datasheets, P&IDs, and applicable engineering standards. Strong written and verbal communication skills. PE license is a plus but not required.
