Columbus Community Hospital is seeking a full-time Phlebotomistto join our Laboratory team. This position is scheduled for40 hours per weekand plays a vital role in providing quality patient care through accurate specimen collection and processing. Schedule Full-time, 40 hours per week Primarily scheduled:12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, or1:30 PM to 10:00 PMOccasional overnight shifts from 8:30 PM to 7:00 AMEvery third weekend evening Two overnight holidays per year
Responsibilities:
- Collect blood specimens from patients of all ages using age-appropriate techniques
- Process and prepare specimens for testing
- Utilize computer systems for test ordering and information lookup
- Answer phones, take orders, and assist with problem-solving activities
- Operate point-of-care testing devices
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Medical knowledge preferred
- Previous phlebotomy experience preferred; training will be provided
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
