Apply for this role →Responsible for the performance and reliability of medium- and high-voltage electrical systems, the remote Senior Substation Engineer will manage lifecycle strategies, lead troubleshooting efforts, and serve as the primary engineering liaison with utilities and contractors.
Key responsibilities:
Own the performance, reliability, and technical stewardship of substation and MV/HV systems across the operating fleet
Lead resolution of major equipment failures and complex technical challenges through structured root cause analysis
Oversee fleet protection and control systems, including settings, logic, coordination, and configuration management
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering strongly preferred)
7+ years of experience with substations, MV/HV systems, or related electrical infrastructure
Hands-on experience troubleshooting, commissioning, testing, or maintaining substation equipment
Experience with protection and control systems, relay analysis, and coordination
Strong understanding of power transformers, breakers, switchgear, and MV/HV equipment
