What you'll do:
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment to excavate, move, and compact soil for remediation and construction prep
- Receive daily direction from your supervisor; close out assignments or take on new project instructions
- Coordinate with craft workers, masons, and a mechanical foreman; pitch in where needed
- Maintain clean, secure equipment and tools; clear hazardous and non-hazardous debris
- Model safe work practices, including required PPE at all times
- Coach field staff on tasks you know well and learn new techniques from coworkers
Must-haves:
- Heavy equipment operation: 5 years (Required)
- Minimum 3 years of experience with heavy equipment
- Site remediation experience with the ability to supervise an on-site crew
- Valid, clean New Jersey driver's license (no points)
- High school diploma or equivalent and English language fluency
- Ability to stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 100 pounds
- Comfort working independently and as part of a team
Nice-to-haves:
- NJ Class A CDL40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER (or willingness to obtain) plus annual 8-hr refresherNJDEP UST Closure credential (Preferred but not required)
- Relevant: 1 year (Preferred)
- Heavy Equipment Operator: 5 years (Preferred)heavy equipment mechanic: 3 years (Preferred)
Pay and benefits:
- Full-time hourly role; overtime paid for time over 8 hours/day$35.00–$40.00 per hour, based on experience
