Senior Tax Manager, Accounting Firm

Responsibilities: Lead and oversee a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to clients. Manage client tax engagements from inception to completion, including planning, execution, and review of audit, tax, and advisory services. Ability to providestrategic Federal and state tax planning and advisory services. Develop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to address their financial needs and objectives. Stay up on regulatory changes, industry trends, and best practices to ensure compliance with accounting standards and provide value-added insights to clients. Collaborate with partners and senior leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at driving business growth and enhancing organizational effectiveness. Drive operational excellence and process improvements within the firm to streamline workflows, optimize resource allocation, and enhance overall productivity. Participate in business development activities, including networking events, client presentations, and proposal preparation, to expand the firm's client base and revenue opportunities. Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning within the team, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing among staff members. Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop team members. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights. Strong understanding of the tax implications of business transactions, acquisitions, reorganizations and succession planning. Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all aspects of work. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities effectively. Supervise and mentor junior tax professionals, providing guidance and training. Manage workflow and delegate tasks to ensure efficient service delivery. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. Masters of Taxation is an asset. CPA certification is required. Extensive experience (8+ years) in public accounting, with a focus on tax, or advisory services. Proven track record of success in a managerial or leadership role within an accounting firm. Strong technical proficiency in accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and firm leadership. Proficiency with UltraTax, accounting software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated interest in pursuing aPartner/Principal trackand taking on increasing leadership and client development responsibilities.
