Job Title: New Model Program Engineer

Position Summary: The New Model Program Engineer plays a critical role in the successful launch of new vehicle and powertrain programs within North America manufacturing plants. This position is responsible for overall program management and launch execution, including issue resolution, pre-production build management, vehicle fleet coordination, engineering change management, budget oversight, and launch readiness activities.
Key Responsibilities: Serve as a gatekeeper for new model programs, ensuring adherence to established launch processes and standards. Manage all pre-production build activities to support program timing, quality, and efficiency objectives. Coordinate pre-production vehicle ordering, build activities, testing, evaluation plans, and final disposition. Oversee Product Development change approvals and ensure implementation prior to prototype build events. Lead cross-functional issue management processes and drive timely resolution of launch-related concerns. Co-chair launch meetings and coordinate resolution of parts and supplier support issues. Manage launch budget approvals and execute New Model Program-controlled budget activities. Prepare and present weekly launch assessments, status reports, and risk reviews. Develop and deliver presentations to senior leadership regarding program progress, challenges, and mitigation plans. Support launch team integration and transition into manufacturing facilities.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required.4+ years of experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.2+ years of experience utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies and statistical analysis techniques.1+ years of experience in vehicle operations, powertrain manufacturing, product design, program management, project management, or launch activities. Strong program management and issue-tracking experience working with cross-functional teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field. Program management experience. Manufacturing experience. Experience supporting new vehicle or powertrain launches. Knowledge of Engineering Change Management and Issue Management processes. Strong understanding of vehicle development and launch processes from development through production. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
