Mid Level Geologist | Baltimore Area 3P Careers is partnering with an established Baltimore area geotechnical consulting firm seeking a Mid Level Geologist to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a geologist who has built a foundation in field investigations, environmental assessments, drilling, sampling, or subsurface work and is ready to broaden their experience. The position offers exposure to geotechnical investigations, technical reporting, and a diverse range of infrastructure projects throughout the Mid Atlantic, along with the opportunity to take on increasing project responsibility as you grow.
Responsibilities: Participate in geotechnical and subsurface investigations Coordinate and observe drilling and field exploration activities Perform soil and rock logging, sampling, and field classification Prepare boring logs and document subsurface conditions Review field and laboratory testing data Assist with groundwater observations and site characterization Prepare field reports, technical reports, and other project documentation Work closely with geotechnical engineers, geologists, drilling teams, laboratory personnel, and other project professionals Support projects from initial field investigation through reporting and construction Assist with construction observation, materials testing, and QA activities as needed Take on increasing project coordination and client responsibilities as experience develops
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geological Engineering, Earth Science, or a related field Approximately 3 to 8+ years of relevant professional experience Experience with geotechnical, subsurface, environmental, or geological field investigations Experience or exposure to drilling oversight, soil sampling, soil or rock logging, test borings, groundwater investigations, or similar field activities Ability to prepare clear and accurate field documentation and technical reports Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating effectively with a project teamGIT or Professional Geologist certification is a plus, but not required Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout the Mid Atlantic as needed Why Consider This Job?
