Role Summary: The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and supporting the timely preparation of financial reporting. This role serves as a key business partner to Finance and Operations by maintaining strong internal controls, supporting compliance requirements, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring the efficient execution of accounting processes that support business performance.

Reports to: Controller Purpose Support UNACEM North America's financial objectives by ensuring accurate accounting processes, reliable financial information, compliance with accounting standards, and effective collaboration with operational and corporate teams. This position contributes to sound financial decision-making while promoting accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Responsibilities: Supervise daily accounting operations, including general ledger activities, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and account reconciliations. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Review and approve journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting documentation. Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and financial records. Analyze financial results, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions as needed. Support cost accounting processes, inventory accounting, and manufacturing cost analysis. Coordinate and support internal and external audits. Assist with tax reporting and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Support treasury activities, cash management, and cash flow forecasting. Develop and implement process improvements that strengthen internal controls and operational efficiency. Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance teams to support business objectives. Prepare financial analyses and reports to support management decision-making. Provide guidance, coaching, and development to accounting team members. Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA certification preferred. Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Knowledge of general ledger management, financial close processes, and account reconciliations. Understanding of cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing accounting principles. Experience supporting audits, compliance activities, and internal control processes. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders. High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies. Daily interaction with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and business leaders. Regular coordination with auditors, financial institutions, and external service providers. Direct impact on financial reporting accuracy, compliance, and accounting operations.
