Physical Therapy Assistant As a physical therapy assistant at Georgia Bone and Joint Surgeons, this position performs a wide variety of duties and responsibilities in a manner that places emphasis on quality of care and customer service. Patient care is the key priority in this position requiring the physical therapy assistant to manage clinic operations to ensure provision of quality patient care, promotion of good human resource management, optimal customer service and the achievement of financial goals. Additional responsibilities include: Performs treatments, and provides exercise instruction and demonstration for and assists patients in exercise, muscles re-education, and gait training. Instructs patients in proper care and use of support and exercise program. Prepares written documentation as directed by the therapist. Evaluates, charts, and reports on patients' progress. Performs clerical duties such as answering calls and scheduling department policies, procedures, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control. Educates patients in proper care and use of supports and exercise programs. Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Graduation of an approved school of Physical Therapy Assistants required.1-2 years experience in an outpatient setting preferred. State of Georgia Physical Therapy Assistant license required. CPR :Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Customer service oriented. Knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 coding procedures. Attentive to detail. Ability to follow up to assure customer is requirements: Maintain current to multi-task efficiently and effectively. Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.
Physical requirements: Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 70 pounds unassisted, including assisting patients when required. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift. Requires exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
