Required Education: High school diploma or GED required; College experience preferred Required Related Experience Applicants must be 18 years of age or older by May 10, 2027 for employment. Experience in the position for which the applicant is applying is preferred. Required License/Registration/Certification Applicants applying for an aquatics or Camp Program Educator position must possess a lifeguard certification from a nationally recognized organization valid through the entirety of summer and/or complete an aquatics training and certification session with 4-H staff. Lifeguards must be able to swim up to 500 yards lap swim without stopping, tread water for 2 minutes without use of hands, and retrieve a 10 pound object from 10 feet of water without goggles.
Physical Requirements: Applicant must be available to work long hours in a noisy environment, work in outside/hot conditions, and be on feet for long periods of time. ShiftDays, nights, and some weekends. Staff are expected to live on the camp property and follow safety recommendations while on and off duty. Internship positions are mid-May 2027 through early August 2027.
