$15.00hr - $20.00hr Job Overview: Seeking a dependable and detail-oriented clerk to professionally greet and assist drivers upon arrival. Responsibilities include coordinating trailer movements, processing Bills of Lading (BOLs), processing PGI transactions in SAP, and maintaining accurate shipping documentation. The candidate will oversee the planning, scheduling, and documentation associated with shipping and logistics activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and efficient coordination between internal teams, carriers, and freight service providers. Overtime may be required to support business operations.
Responsibilities:
Schedule air shipments and coordinate flight bookings with freight forwarders, carriers, and third-party logistics providers. Monitor shipment status to ensure on-time dispatch, transit, and delivery. Communicate with customs partners and regulatory agencies to ensure all air shipments meet federal and international compliance requirements. Collaborate with Operations, Transportation, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Carrier Management teams to resolve issues and maintain high service levels. Produce daily, weekly, and monthly air-shipment activity reports for internal stakeholders. Arrange for pick-ups with assigned freight forwarders. Coordinate with customs, brokers, and regulatory agencies for the traceability of import and export shipments. Process FedEx, DHL, UPS, and Express Mail shipments, including processing requests for Shipper's Export Declarations (SEDs) as appropriate. Provide a detailed monthly report of activity with international carriers and customers. Process customer orders, oversee all order documentation, and maintain corresponding files. Operate within ERP, TMS, and WMS platforms, including processing PGI transactions in SAP. Maintain import documentation records for international transportation. Coordinate carrier planning and special, last-minute shipping requests with Transportation and Operations Departments, expediting orders as necessary. Schedule shipments in a timely and accurate manner. Cross-train across distribution responsibilities to assist during times of urgency, breaks, absences, or vacations.
Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED required. 1+ years of relevant experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems (ERP). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced distribution environment. Ability to read and interpret distribution documents. Basic analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills. General distribution knowledge.
Work Environment:
This position typically operates in a normal office environment with quiet to moderate noise levels. Occasional support of operational activities in the distribution center may be required.
Physical Requirements:
(Due to nature of job, The candidate must have): Ability to walk, stand, stoop, and kneel. Ability to sit for prolonged periods. Ability to perform repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, or fingers, including typing.
