In need of an experienced Tax Preparer to provide immediate support throughout the rest of tax season. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who can step in quickly, work independently, and manage a high volume of complex returns in a fast-paced public accounting environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals and business entities
- Prepare S Corporation (Form 1120S) returns, including K-1sEnsure compliance with current tax laws and firm standards
- Analyze financial statements, trial balances, and supporting documentation
- Identify tax issues, discrepancies, and planning opportunities
- Meet strict filing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Collaborate with managers and partners as needed on complex engagements
Requirements & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of public accounting or relevant tax preparation experience
- Strong knowledge of federal and state income tax regulations
- Ability to handle a high volume of work during peak season
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with professional tax software and Microsoft Excel
- Experience in a mid-to-large CPA firm environmentCPA or EA designation (or progress toward certification)
- Strong communication skills and professionalism with clients and staff
