Work as part of a coordinated commissioning team with company‑paid training to become a commissioning specialist.
Take pride in precision, clean documentation, and getting mission‑critical power systems online right. This opportunity is immediate.
Job Duties:
Commission and repair standby power generators and related power‑generation systems at data center sites, verifying that equipment is installed, tested, and operating to design parameters.
Perform startup, functional testing, and load‑bank testing; accurately record instrumentation and commissioning data.
Troubleshoot and diagnose generator controls (AC and DC), voltage regulators, engine control units, and exhaust aftertreatment systems using electronic diagnostic tools.
Perform preventative maintenance, field modifications, and warranty corrections in line with your completed training.
Conduct failure analysis and document findings, corrective actions, and results clearly.
Coordinate daily with the site commissioning team—project lead, service coordinator, and contractors—to keep the project on schedule.
Follow all site safety and compliance requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), NFPA 70E, and OSHA standards, plus data center site protocols and etiquette.
Maintain accurate records to support warranty, commissioning, and customer reporting.
Work Experience & Qualifications:
5+ years of generator service, power generation, or commissioning experience (data center experience a plus), or equivalent training and experience.
Working knowledge of standby power generators, generator controls, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
Comfort using electronic diagnostic tools and commissioning/construction‑management platforms (e.g., Procore).
Willingness and ability to travel to jobsites and to be available for on‑call support as project schedules require.
Strong analytical problem‑solving skills, precision, attention to detail, and excellent documentation habits.
Commitment to completing a structured commissioning and safety training path (LOTO, NFPA 70E, OSHA 10, electrical, commissioning, and failure analysis) — provided and paid for by the company.
EGSA certification is a plus — and if you don’t have it yet, we’ll help you earn it.
Your own hand tools (backed by our Tool Replacement Insurance program).
