Bus Aides (Part-Time And Substitute) Rose Tree Media School District seeks caring, dependable, and safety-minded Bus Aides to support students during transportation to and from school. Bus Aides work collaboratively with District bus drivers to help provide a safe, positive, and supportive transportation experience for students, including students who may require additional assistance while riding the school bus. The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, and comfortable working with children of varying ages and needs. This position requires an individual who communicates effectively, responds calmly to student needs, follows established safety procedures, and understands the importance of providing consistent and reliable support to students throughout their ride.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages, abilities, and needs. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students, families, drivers, staff, administrators, and members of the public. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established transportation and safety procedures. Ability to remain attentive to student needs and respond appropriately to routine and unexpected situations. Ability to work collaboratively with the bus driver and other District personnel. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with assisting and supervising students during transportation. Current required background clearances.

The position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, and move safely within and around a school bus. Duties may include assisting students as they enter and exit the bus, moving through the bus while it is stationary, securing or assisting with student safety equipment, and providing physical assistance to students as needed. The position requires the ability to respond promptly to student needs and emergency situations and may involve exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions while students are boarding or exiting the bus.
