Location: Hybrid in San Diego, California. Our team works in the office Tuesday and Thursday, with remote work Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Employees also enjoy flexible start times between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
Note: Candidates must have 2+ years of directly relevant mechanical engineering or mechanical design experience and hands on experience with HVAC and mechanical systems for building projects.

Job Description: Design HVAC and mechanical systems for residential and commercial building projects Support projects from conceptual design and system selection through construction documentation and construction administration Perform HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing, and mechanical system design Develop ductwork, ventilation, piping, and related mechanical system layouts Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, schedules, calculations, and supporting design documentation Coordinate mechanical designs with electrical, plumbing, architectural, structural, and other project disciplines Participate in client meetings and communicate technical recommendations clearly Conduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions and observe construction progress Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and assist with construction phase engineering support Apply applicable California building, mechanical, energy, and sustainability requirements to project designs Work collaboratively with engineers and designers to deliver accurate, cost effective, constructible solutions Qualifications 2+ years of mechanical engineering or mechanical design experience Hands on experience designing HVAC and mechanical systems for buildings Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline preferred Experience with commercial, residential, institutional, or similar building projects preferred Familiarity with California mechanical and energy codes, including Title 24, is preferred Experience preparing construction documents and coordinating across multiple disciplines AutoCAD and Revit experience preferred Strong technical, communication, organizational, and problem solving skills Ability to attend client meetings and visit project sites as needed Why You Will Love Working Here Hybrid flexibility with three remote days each week 100% paid health, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) plan with employer matching contribution Generous PTO and paid holidays Performance bonuses Continuing education, professional training, mentoring, and career development Flexible work hours and modern engineering technologyA collaborative team where engineers gain meaningful project responsibility and visibilityJPC - 2386
