Maintenance Technician

Essential job functions include: Assists in the installation and maintenance of streets and sewers. Loads and unloads trucks. Performs maintenance, cleaning and repair of buildings and facilities. Cuts grass and cleans grounds. Operates dump truck and hauls sand and gravel Trims trees and weeds. Performs general labor. Operates small implements such as tractors, mowers, and front-end loaders. Operates heavy equipment such as bulldozers, graders, or heavy trenching machines. Sidewalk and curb and gutter construction, maintenance, and repair. Asphalt and unpaved street maintenance and repair. Concrete construction of forms, walls to hold back dirt, and other foundations. Street cleaning. Drainage, easements, rights-of-way, parks, and other city property maintenance. Storm sewer cleaning and maintenance. Culvert installation, cleaning, and maintenance. Qualifications: High school graduate/GED required. At least one (1) year of street maintenance experience required or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Certificates and licenses: 1. Valid Texas driver's license is required. A Texas CDL operator's license is preferred. 2. Driving record acceptable to the City

Special Requirements: Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to perform strenuous work in the outdoors under adverse weather conditions. Ability to lift seventy-five (75) pounds. Ability to maintain a good driving record.
