Comptroller

Job Summary: Beau Jo’s Management Company’s Comptroller is responsible for ensuring our Company remains in good financial standing. By ensuring necessary strategies and controls are in place to keep the Company in good fiscal health. Responsible for conducting internal audit controls to ensure compliance with legal and ethical business practices. This position is allowed to work remotely and will report to the President. Work Activities The work activities include but are not limited to: Primary Responsibilities·        Managing financial transactions·        Weekly gross and net sales report·        Prepare period end balance sheet and profit & loss statement·        Assist operations with budget & budget update·        Weekly wage reporting to Pinnacol and premium payment·        Coordinate gift card sales and inventory for website, warehouse & store sales·        Administration of Company 401(K) Plan·        Misc. projects (Steamboat Springs, trademarks, business insurance policies·        Yearend financial statements for real estate venture, Beau Jo’s Vance Street LLCTools & Equipment Used·        Microsoft Office Suite·        Printer/ Scanner·        Calculator·        Cell Phone·        Accounting Software (Restaurant Systems Pro)·        Payroll Software (ADP Workforce Now)Job Context The Comptroller will be scheduled and work a minimum of 40 hours weekly and maintain a home office. Majority of your work time will be sitting, walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. Working hours are determined by the needs of the Company and the restaurants as well as scheduled events. You will lead by example to all staff to include your professionalism, appearance, and leadership skills. Work Performance The Comptroller will be evaluated on an annual basis by the President.  Your performance is measured on:·        Attitude, accuracy and availability·        Meet deadlines·        Team player (cover ap/payroll for vacations)Compensation InformationFLSA Status: Exempt Key Employee Bonus-eligible (not guaranteed)

Job Competencies: Upon hire, the Comptroller must:·        Have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration and 4-6 years of experience in a related industry with proven results·        Have a valid driver’s license·        Be skilled in Microsoft Office Suite·        Be accessible and available during restaurant operating hours·        Strong organizational skills·        Experience with spreadsheet and financial analysis software·        Good communication skills·        Knowledge of regulatory and other financial standards and requirements·        Understanding of taxation, payroll and other fiscal aspects of the restaurant industry·        Experience conducting audits After hire or within 60 days of hire, the Comptroller must:·        Learn Beau Jo’s Management Companies policies and procedures·        Obtain or have Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or equivalent
