Senior Payroll Manager

About the Role: A manufacturing company is looking for a Senior Payroll Manager to lead its U.S. payroll function for about 1,500 employees. You'll manage a team of 2 and play a key role in the company's upcoming conversion from SAP to ADP for both time and payroll. If you've been through a payroll system conversion, especially SAP to ADP, we want to talk to you.

What You Will Do: Lead day-to-day payroll operations, including biweekly and special incentive payrolls, and make sure every payroll is accurate and on time Help lead the SAP-to-ADP conversion for time and payroll, including system testing for upgrades, configuration changes, and third-party interfaces Manage payroll tax filings through ADP Tax Services, respond to tax inquiries, and partner with Corporate Tax on federal and state compliance Oversee W-2 preparation and reconciliation Reconcile the payroll bank account and payroll-related GL accounts, research variances, and provide support for all balances Prepare and analyze key reports, including monthly hours and wages, profit sharing, and DC/401(k)Represent payroll in internal, third-party, and SOX audits and manage audit timelines Administer relocation and other fringe benefit processing Interpret union contracts so employees are paid correctly under contract terms Resolve employee questions on pay, taxes, deductions, and special requests Improve payroll policies, procedures, and processes, and communicate changes clearly Build training programs and user guides for the payroll team Maintain compliant payroll records and provide timely management reporting Develop your team and keep service strong with internal and external customers What You Need to Succeed:10+ years of payroll experience, including at least 4 years in management Bachelor's degree in a business fieldSAP Payroll experience preferred; ADP experience a plus (both is ideal)Strong knowledge of payroll tax and government regulations Experience interpreting union contracts for payroll Solid accounting knowledge and strong numerical skills Clear written and verbal communication, including presenting findings to management Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities Proficiency in Excel and Word Excellent interpersonal skills About Movement Search and DeliveryMOVEMENT is a national executive search firm that connects companies with exceptional talent across engineering, manufacturing, finance, supply chain, information technology, sales, legal, and human resources.
