Director/Senior Director, BD Strategy & Innovation

The Role: As we scale our partnering and pipeline strategy, we are hiring a Director or Senior Director of BD Strategy & Innovation to be the strategic engine behind our partnerships. This is a hands-on role for someone who both thinks and executes, turning competitive intelligence and partnering opportunities into action and growth. You will work directly with our Chief Business Officer and closely with our scientific and technical leadership.

What You'll Do: •   Build and maintain competitive and market intelligence across our therapeutic areas, translating developments into clear recommendations for leadership.•   Lead prospect research and target identification and own the substance and messaging of the materials that go to partners.•   Identify and pursue out-licensing and partnership opportunities for our platforms, mapping potential partners, shaping the outreach, and building the case that brings them to the table.•   Scout and evaluate external technologies and assets to license in, partnering with scientific and technical leadership on diligence.•   Support deal strategy, positioning, and partnership models, and prepare inputs for board, investor, and partner discussions.•   Help coordinate alliance activities on active partnerships and support grant submissions.

What You'll Bring: •   5 to 10+ years in biotech or pharma business development, corporate development, strategy, or medical affairs, with the level set to experience.•   Strong scientific literacy; an advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, or MS) is valued for evaluating technologies and intellectual property.•   A track record of identifying partners and driving outreach from first contact through early term discussions.•   Experience identifying partners and evaluating opportunities on both sides of the table, out-licensing platforms or assets as well as scouting technologies to license in.•   A structured, methodical thinker who also executes and drives work to completion.•   A clear, precise communicator comfortable operating with autonomy in a lean, fast-moving environment. Location & Work Arrangement This role is preferably based in our Raleigh area office, working alongside our leadership team. We are open to a remote arrangement for the right candidate, with periodic travel to Raleigh and to conferences and partner meetings. Level & Compensation

Level: Director or Senior Director, based on experience. Compensation: a competitive base salary commensurate with level and experience, plus meaningful equity.
