Senior Underwriter | Environmental & Energy

The role: You will shape and grow the environmental and energy product, combining hands-on underwriting with a strong focus on new business. You’ll help define the appetite, build broker relationships and establish the processes needed to develop a sustainable book.

Responsibilities: Lead underwriting strategy and new business production across environmental, energy and related lines. Develop and maintain broker and producer relationships, identify target markets and actively pursue new opportunities. Evaluate submissions, assess exposures, structure coverage and terms, and price risks in line with the organization’s appetite. Help design the product offering, underwriting guidelines, workflows and tools as the function is established. Monitor portfolio performance and market conditions, adjusting underwriting decisions and growth plans as needed. Collaborate with leadership and internal partners on reinsurance, capacity and portfolio development.

Experience: Ideally 6–10 years of underwriting experience in environmental, energy or closely related lines. Demonstrated success generating and underwriting new business. Sound technical judgment across relevant environmental and energy risks and coverages. Experience building a book, launching a product or helping establish an underwriting function is highly valued. Reinsurance experience is helpful, but not required. Strong broker-market relationships and the ability to work independently in a remote role.
