Senior Property Accountant

Responsibilities: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a portfolio of commercial real estate properties. Manage the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Prepare and review property-level financial statements in accordance with company policies and GAAP.Perform detailed CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and tenant recoveries. Assist with the annual budgeting and forecasting process for assigned properties. Analyze property operating results, variances, and key financial metrics. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and supporting schedules. Coordinate with property management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and budgeting. Support annual audits and provide required financial documentation and analysis. Prepare management reports and financial presentations for senior leadership. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiencies.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including significant commercial property accounting experience. Strong background as a Senior Accountant with experience in: Financial statement preparation General ledger accounting Budgeting and forecasting Month-end and year-end close Variance analysisCAM reconciliations Advanced experience with Yardi is required. Strong understanding of GAAP and commercial real estate accounting principles. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with property management and operational teams. Preferred Background Commercial office, industrial, retail, or mixed-use property accounting experience. Experience managing multiple properties and entities within a real estate portfolio. Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
