The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Key Account Executive to develop new business and build a portfolio of our most strategic customer relationships across the United States. This is a senior, closer-level sales role for someone who has already proven they can win business and grow it into a lasting partnership. You won't just be selling into an account you'll be mapping it: understanding a customer's full business, from day-to-day purchasing to executive decision-making, and building a strategy to become their packaging partner across every product line, not just the one that got you in the door. You'll have an Inside Sales Executive supporting you on order entry, tracking, and coordination with internal teams, so your time stays focused on the relationship and the strategy: prospecting, meeting with decision-makers, solving problems as they come up, and thinking on your feet when a deal doesn't go the way you planned. We're looking for someone who has already arrived as a sales professional: a sharp strategic thinker and relationship builder who is comfortable owning results with minimal oversight.
What You'll Do:
Win and Grow Strategic Accounts Prospect and develop new mid-market and enterprise opportunities throughout the United States. Build your own pipeline while also working company-provided target accounts and opportunities. Conduct in-person customer meetings and presentations across the country. Navigate consultative B2B sales cycles ranging from approximately 30 days to 90+ days. Map each account's full chain of command and build relationships at every level, from day-to-day buyers to executive decision-makers. Look beyond the current order: understand a customer's entire business and build a strategy to become their packaging partner across products, programs, locations, and divisions, not just the SKU that got you in the door. Solve problems and think quickly when a deal or relationship hits a snag, the people who succeed in this role aren't easily thrown off course. Consistently achieve revenue, gross profit, pipeline, meeting/activity, and new-business objectives. Own Your Market & Travel Travel 50%+, including frequent overnight travel and trips that may last a full work week. Strategically plan customer travel based on account opportunity and expected business impact. Manage an assigned travel and entertainment budget and demonstrate appropriate return on travel investment. Attend industry trade shows and other customer-facing events as required. Independently identify and prioritize new target accounts and market opportunities. Manage the Business Partner with your dedicated Inside Sales Executive, who handles order entry, tracking, and day-to-day coordination, so you can stay focused on strategy and the relationship. Maintain accurate opportunity, account, and activity information in Net Suite. Own pipeline management and provide thoughtful, accurate sales forecasts. Coordinate across Product, Operations, Finance, Account Management, and other functions to move opportunities from concept through execution. Take ownership of problems and next steps rather than waiting for management to drive the process.
What We're Looking For:
5+ years of successful B2B sales experience, ideally selling complex or custom manufactured products. A proven closer: demonstrated ability to prospect, develop, and close new business independently. Strong business judgment, commercial instincts, and strategic thinking, you plan several moves ahead, not just to the next order. Skilled at navigating complex organizations: identifying who actually holds influence, and building trust with each of them. Ability to distinguish between legitimate customer objections and surface-level resistance and adjust strategy accordingly. Composure under pressure; not easily thrown off course by a curveball in a negotiation or account. High level of personal accountability, resourcefulness, and follow-through. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Technologically capable and comfortable learning new systems; Net Suite experience preferred but not required. Experience within packaging, CPG, or related industries is helpful but not required. Bachelor's degree preferred; demonstrated ability, experience, and results are more important. Ability and willingness to travel nationwide 50%+.
What Success Looks Like:
Success means learning our business quickly, building a quality pipeline of strategic accounts, and executing a clear plan to win them and then expanding your footprint inside each one over time. This is a role for someone who has already arrived as a seasoned sales professional and is ready to own results from day one.
