Role Description:
The Director, Stakeholder Engagement and Member Services is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Washington DC–Baltimore area, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role leads stakeholder engagement strategies, cultivates relationships with members and partners, and ensures high-quality member services and support. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing membership outreach, coordinating engagement initiatives, organizing stakeholder meetings and events, and serving as a primary point of contact for member organizations. The Director collaborates with internal teams to align member services with organizational goals, gathers feedback to enhance programs, and communicates key updates and value propositions to stakeholders. This position also oversees projects that strengthen member experience, supports program development, and contributes to long-term strategic planning for membership growth and retention.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated Program Management and Project Management skills to plan, execute, and optimize stakeholder and member service initiatives. Strong Communication abilities, including written, verbal, and presentation skills, to engage diverse aviation stakeholders and clearly convey complex information. Proven Team Leadership and Consulting experience to guide staff, collaborate across functions, and advise members on programs and services. Experience in stakeholder or member relations, customer success, or association management, in an aviation, aerospace, or a technical standards environment. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, managing priorities and relationships both in-person and remotely. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and feedback to improve member programs and engagement strategies. Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, communications, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant professional certifications are a plus. Commitment to inclusive, collaborative work practices and the ability to engage with stakeholders from varied backgrounds and organizations.
Work Environment
Location: Washington, D.C.
Work Schedule:
Hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days a week on-site in our Washington, DC office; additional onsite attendance may be required based on meetings, events, and stakeholder needs. (Standard in-office days are currently Monday and Wednesday for all staff.)Relocation Assistance is not available. This position requires domestic and international travel, estimated to be up to 15%.
Compensation and Benefits:
The expected pay range for this role is $135,000 to $150,000 per year and will be commensurate with factors such as relevant experience, skills, and qualifications. RTCA offers a robust benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage with the employer contributing the majority of the preferred plan medical premium and 100% of the premium for dental and vision for eligible employees and their dependents.
