Jacksonville, Florida | Waterfront Campus | 14 Days On / 7 Days Off Safe Harbor Boys Home & Maritime Academy is seeking Christ-centered married couples and single men to serve as House Parents, mentoring young men ages 14-17 in our Jacksonville waterfront ministry. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS$28,000-$30,000 annual salary per individual$56,000-$60,000 combined base salary for married couples On-site housing and utilities provided Meals, food, and snacks provided while on campus Health care reimbursement up to $250/month per individual Dental insurance buy-in option Paid time off and paid training 403(b) retirement plan On-site laundry, fitness facility, and workshop Vessel moorage for qualified personal vesselsRV space with hookups when availableWORK SCHEDULEHouse Parents serve on a repeating 21-day rotation:7 days on the morning/day schedule 7 days on the afternoon/evening schedule 7 consecutive days completely off This 14-days-on, 7-days-off rotation provides a full week away from scheduled duties to recharge, travel, and reconnect with family. THE ROLEHouse Parents share everyday life with young men through discipleship, mentoring, school support, recreation, transportation, vocational training, meals, projects, life skills, prayer, devotions, church, and biblical teaching. They provide steady guidance, loving accountability, healthy boundaries, and consistent relationships while helping young men grow in faith, character, responsibility, and practical life skills. WHO WE'RE LOOKING FORThe right House Parent is mature, dependable, relational, teachable, and steady under pressure. Candidates should have a mature, active, growing relationship with Jesus Christ; combine compassion with firm guidance; demonstrate sound judgment, reliability, communication, and conflict-management skills; work well within a team; and be comfortable with active residential and waterfront life. Helpful backgrounds include youth mentoring, Christian ministry, residential care, foster care, education, coaching, social services, military/public safety, skilled trades, facilities, outdoor work, and maritime work. Practical skills such as carpentry, mechanics, boat repair, boating, sailing, gardening, culinary arts, welding, construction, maintenance, and other trades are welcome. WATERFRONT LIVINGSafe Harbor operates within a private marina and maritime campus in Jacksonville. Living arrangements may include a Safe Harbor live-aboard vessel, a qualified personal vessel, or a personal RV on campus when available. House Parents DO NOT live aboard vessels with program residents. Candidates should be comfortable with docks, boats, stairs, outdoor areas, and waterfront life. Maritime, RV, or live-aboard experience is helpful but not required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSValid driver's license and acceptable driving record Required background screening Sound judgment, reliability, communication, and conflict-management skills Physical ability to safely navigate docks, vessels, stairs, and outdoor areasCHRISTIAN FAITH & MINISTRY REQUIREMENTSChristian faith is foundational to Safe Harbor's mission. House Parents serve in ministry roles involving Christian example, prayer, biblical discipleship, spiritual instruction, and devotions. Applicants must be born-again Christians with a mature, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and be willing to uphold Safe Harbor's Statement of Faith and ministry standards.
