Job Description:
Deliver quality care to adult and geriatric patients in a dynamic medical-surgical environment with a renal focus. This contract opportunity requires skilled registered nurses able to manage a diverse case load and adapt to a fast-paced setting.
Schedule / Hours:
- Day shift: Three 12-hour shifts per week (07:00 19:00)
- Every other weekend coverage
- Expectation to work holidays as outlined if assignment spans these dates
- Maximum of 7 days requested time off (RTO) allowed within contract period
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience (first-time travelers accepted)BLS certification required
- Experience with adult and geriatric populations
Desired Experience:
- Med/Surg background, especially renal-specific care
- Competency in hemodialysis catheter management, manual PD/PD cycler
- Assessment and care for sepsis, telemetry monitoring, ETOH management (CIWA protocols), UTI management, CKD, and hypertensive emergencies
Key Responsibilities:
- Care for a patient ratio averaging 1:6 across a 20-room unit (average daily census: 18)
- Work with systems such as Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication
- Adapt to floating as needed within the facility
- Wear navy, white, or a combination of these scrub colors per unit policy
- Contribute to full compliance with onboarding and orientation schedules
Additional Details:
- No required on-call shifts
- Local candidates considered at the same rate
- Compliance with all credentialing for a timely start is essential
- Non-billable orientation hours correspond to contract duration
